Business owner Ann Clarke’s said, “You don’t need someone else to make you happy or take care of you. It’s within YOU!”
College Professor Jim Vernon’s told him, ‘All work is dignified’, and restaurant worker Kelsey Hartmann’s encouraged her to, “Have the courage to realize a job might not be the best fit for you, and that is not a bad thing.”
Career coach Julie M Quihuiz shared this: “My mom was one of the first Peace Corps volunteers. She moved to west Africa all by herself. I never considered that anything was impossible because of what she showed us.”

Mary Carraher described how in high school, when she had to write a paper on a career of interest. Mom suggested, “How about Social Work?”, a career Mary was in for over 40 years.
Business owner Kathleen Duff’s mother said, “Be kind. You never know what the next person has faced in life,” and from housing administrator Beth Rosen’s: “Every rejection letter is one letter closer to “yes”. Real estate broker Lynn Patrick Groll’s mom helped her believe she was capable of anything she put her mind to, and leadership coach Heather Clarke-Peckerman’s mother taught her that she could learn from anyone.
Consultant Carol Fishell Bennis’ mom’s wisdom was, “The worst anyone can say is no. Someone much smarter will come along.” PR leader Carolyn Charkey’s mom stressed listening, contributing to her success in managing people.
And from mine: “Do the work no one else wants to do. It creates job security and people will appreciate you.”
